In 1971, in a backyard in Malibu, California, our original founder took an old surfboard and carved out two places — one to sit in and another for his scuba gear. That's right the Ocean Kayak was born thanks to a passion for scuba diving. But as this craft was seen on the water and on the beach, people began to inquire. Originally built as a fiberglass kayak several people started asking how they could get one. Today, tens of thousands of boats later, we're one of the world's biggest manufacturers of sit-on-top kayaks.

Challenge:

The Australian kayak market is overly saturated with kayak brands, "kayak education" should be reflected as a part of the Ocean Kayak brand image, to position itself as a pioneer in the sport and a leader in kayak technology. Due to the bulk size of product, buyers are reluctant to engage in the online shopping experience, to help maximise exposure of our dealer network, a local "Click & Collect" service should be made available for customers.
